Mykonos Airport Car Hire

As with many other international airports, Mykonos Airport offers a rental car service which can be useful for those tourists looking to drive themselves around the island during their holiday.

Most families or small groups of four will be able to rent a town car for a good balance of affordability and comfort, although larger groups may require bigger vehicles. The cost of renting a car will depend on the type of vehicle and the duration of the rental.

The drive from the airport to town is short at about 3 kilometers (or roughly 1.8 miles), so the journey should typically 10 minutes even when there is heavy traffic.

The following rental companies operate at Mykonos Airport: Avis, Budget, Sixt, avance and Hertz. Each company has a kiosk located inside the airport’s main arrivals area.

Note that gas prices on Mykonos are about €1.65 for an average liter, so anyone looking to rent a car will also have to budget for refilling the gas tank if necessary. Many rental companies also require that people hiring their cars fill the gas tank back up when returning the car.

One benefit of having a rental car is that there will be no upcharge if you have a large amount of luggage, although renters will also have to load and offload the car themselves.
